Rossetti’s 1871 painting “Pandora” is about to get auctioned at Sotheby on 22nd May 2014
The 19th century big English painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti’s oil painting from 1871, “Pandora” is about to be auctioned at Sotheby’s 22nd May 2014 at London sale of British and Irish art. Rossetti himself is a notable Enlgish artist and his other notable works has sold for millions of dollars in past auctions.

Banksy’s 8 feet tall art-work is available for sale
The Detroit art gallery, 555 Nonprofit Gallery and Studios has officially declared to sell an 8 feet tall Banksy art work. As the artist is known for his novice style, the painting is painted on a building wall which has got demolished. It was bought to the gallery and now is available for sell. The gallery owners are expecting the art-work to generate amount between US$200,000 to US$1.2 million, based on the recently sold art-works by the artist.

600 pounds Greek Model Temple sold for 25,000
A model of a Greek temple of Poseidon was expected to be sold for 400-600 pounds has generated about 25 time greater amount at the final sale on 4th March.

Pakistan’s Picasso’s 7 works available for sale at an auction at London
Bonhams Indian and Islamic Art sale is auctioning Sadequain, the Pakistan’s Picasso’s 7 works on the April 8. The Artist’s fame has risen after his selection to illustrate the book cover of the French Nobel Laureate Albert Camus’s new book.
This new collection is said to be the best collection of works by the artist. The best work in the collection is “Judgement in Paris”. The highest price for the artist’s works was around US$200,000 in March, 2008.

$3.4 million painting found in an apartment abandoned for 70 years
The apartment is located in Paris in which the painting worth of $3.4 million has been found with other valuable old objects and antiques.
After the owner’s death at 91, the apartment was opened and this big discovery happened. The painting is “Lady in Pink dress” and the reason of its high price is its painter. The painter is Giovanni Boldini, the renowned Italian portrait painter. And the lady in the painting is Marthe de Florian (famous French actrss during 19th century), the grandmother of the owner of the apartment.

A work by Renaissance artist Caravaggio is about to get exhibited in Hongkong
The well-known renaissance artist Caravaggio famous for his light-and-shadow art technique “Chiaroscuro” is about to get exhibited in Asia for the first time.
His work, “The Supper at Emmaus”, a painting made right before he killed a man in a brawl in Milan during the year of 1606. Thus, the painting is the Milan version of the historical incident which is not to get mistaken with the London version made in 1601, which has a different composition style than the Milan version.
The cost to get the painting from its original place to Hongkong was around US$621,000 while the insurance for the trip is 64 million euros. Caravaggio is no small artist.

Mural by Jackson Pollock was under restoration for more than a year and now has gone on display. It was under restoration at J. Paul Getty Museum. The painting is also a part of the artist’s famous Drip painting.
The painting was made in 1943 and is 8 by 20 feet big.
