This elegant portrayal of vase full of flowers, fruits at the bottom and some insects buzzing around the setting is achieved by a Dutch still-life painter Jan Van Huysum, whose ability was derived from his painter father Justus van Huysum and grandfather Jan van Huysum I. Here in this oil-on-canvas painting from 18th century, the appearance of the flower almost seems as they are floating freely in the mid-air due to the dark background and very shy presentation of the table.
