The Austrian painter Hans Zatzka is known for painting women in rich environment. His themes varied from mythology to fantasy and sometimes real places. But, his most prolific works represents mythological characters in different sets. The current painting is about the Greek goddess Venus in lying on a ground surrounded by the ‘attendants’. Heirich von Zugel is a well-known artist of Germany for his illustrative works of animals. His paintings are often smeary, just giving a sense of the scene and rest leaving on the viewer’s imagination. Here in the scene, a farmer is directing a herd of oxen into (or out of) a yard.  Maybe it’s time for graze or they are returning from it. We can’t be so sure just by looking at it because there are not enough elements in the frame. What we can interpret is the time of the day and the herdsman simple life. Valentine Zubiaurre was a Spanish painter in late 19th century. He was born deaf just like his brother unfortunately. The irony of their lives is that both were sons of a composer. In his early age, he began painting. He traveled foreign countries to nurture his skills. After acquiring enough experience and doing some outstanding works, he got the first medal of national exhibition of fine arts in 1917. This genre painting named ‘Boys Fishing’ was drawn in 1902.
