Adolf Schreyer had some fascination towards the Arab landscape and culture. Maybe that was inspired by his Egyptian voyage in his life-time. He might have learned and understood the local culture very well as we conceive a very realistic and convincing depiction of Arabian horsemen on their march. The leader of the march with sturdy attitudes and red flag seems the signs of something intense is going on or is about to happen. Please don’t misinterpret the artist’s name with the spectacular historical figure George Washington. The artist here, Georges Washington is totally different personality from the first president of the United States of America. The shot being fired from the rifle hints an encounter on the go when this particular Arab soldier is trying to kill his undefined enemy. We are being kept in dark about the rivals to make us concentrate on the particular soldier’s pose and his horse’s quick movements in efforts to save itself from the probable harm.   Albert Zimmerman’s adequacy comes up shining in his landscape portrayals in which his mastery on colors (with including slightest variants of them) and choice of scenery really stands out. Here, as the title suggests, the painting portrays an Arabian caravan leaving the city perceived in the far background. They have come a long way in the vast plain but still the huge flat ground allows us to see the city. Thus, we understand the first impression as the journey has just begun.
